An Honest Mother’s Journey Through Her Baby Girl’s First 7 Months

Motherhood has a way of quietly transforming you, sometimes in ways you don’t even realise until you pause and look back. For Anubha Singh, born in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, and now living in Noida, the journey of raising her 7-month-old daughter has been shaped by a beautiful blend of traditional values and modern awareness. Rooted in simplicity, care, and mindful choices, her approach to motherhood reflects both where she comes from and the kind of mother she is becoming.

Through these heartfelt reflections, she shares the small, real moments that define early motherhood, the ones every parent will recognise and hold close.

How has your background shaped your parenting?

Growing up, I learned the value of simplicity, care, and trusting traditional wisdom, especially when it comes to nurturing and protecting a child. At the same time, being exposed to modern knowledge has helped me make more informed and mindful choices as a mother.

What is something your daughter does lately that melts your heart every time?

Seven months is such a special phase. She’s so interactive now. The way she gently touches me and smiles back instantly melts my heart. And if I get even a little upset, she reacts and starts to cry. It shows how deeply connected she is to me.

What everyday moment with her has surprised you recently?

Lately, what’s surprised me the most is how excited she gets during our little walks. The moment we step outside, her face just lights up. She absolutely loves touching plants and observing everything around her with so much curiosity. It’s such a simple moment, but so magical to watch.

What do nights look like in your home right now?

Right now, nights are fairly calm. She sleeps well but wakes up twice for feeding. It’s a mix of little sleepy cuddles and quiet moments, and honestly, I don’t mind it at all.

What recent milestone made you feel especially proud?

Lately, she’s been trying so hard to crawl. Even though she can’t fully do it yet, the effort she puts in makes me so proud. Watching her try, fall, and try again is such an emotional and beautiful moment for me.

What is one parenting lesson she has already taught you?

One of the biggest lessons she’s taught me is patience. She reminds me every day to slow down, be present, and respond with love in every situation.

What qualities do you hope she carries with her?

I hope she grows up to be kind, confident, and emotionally strong. Someone who is gentle at heart but strong enough to stand for herself.

What change in yourself stands out the most since she was born?

The biggest change in me is how I’ve become more patient and emotionally aware. I’ve learned to put her before everything and find joy in the smallest moments.

If you could freeze one moment from this stage, what would it be?

I would freeze those little moments when she looks at me, smiles, and gently touches my face. It’s pure love, and I never want to forget that feeling.

What products do you use for your baby? Any suggestions?

In the beginning, I was very careful and chose only gentle, safe products for her delicate skin. Even now, I prefer mild, trusted products that are soft and nurturing. I would always suggest choosing products that are gentle, safe, and specially made for babies’ sensitive skin.

A Quiet Reminder for Every Mother

What stands out in Anubha’s journey is not perfection, but presence. The patience to pause, the awareness to grow, and the ability to find joy in the smallest, most ordinary moments are the things that truly shape motherhood.

If there is one takeaway, it is this. Your baby does not need a perfect mother, just a present one who learns, grows, and loves a little more every day.
